Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) is the first Private Engineering College in the united state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and was established in the year 1977. VRSEC is offering 7 UG Engineering Courses (B.Tech) and 9 PG Engineering Courses (M.Tech) in various specializations. In addition, the institute is offering PG courses in Management (MBA) and Computer Applications (MCA). All UG and 5 PG engineering courses are accredited by NBA in Outcome Based Education format (OBE). Annually, the total intake of the institute is 1140 and total strength of the college is 5700.
VRSEC was accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade and UGC has conferred the Autonomous status to the Institute in 2006. VRSEC is having strong faculty base with more than 350 members out of which 88 PhD’s are from various national and premier institutes in India and abroad. The faculty and students of VRSEC have published more than 800 research articles in reputed national and international journals in the last four years and filed 21 patents.
Five Departments (Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) of VRSEC are recognized as research centers by JNTU Kakinada and a Total of 125 Ph.D. Scholars have been guided by 34 faculty members of VRSEC. The institute received grants of worth of Rs 4.67 crores from various funding organizations like UGC, AICTE, DST, DRDO, and ISRO during the last five years. VRSEC was funded with Rs. 6 Crores by World Bank and MHRD under TEQIP-II S.C.1.2 (scaling up of P.G.Education and Demand Driven R&D, I). VRSEC is recognized by Scientific & Industrial Research Organization, (SIRO), DSIR, MST, Government of India since August, 2017. The institute is offering testing and consultancy services in engineering and around Rs.10 Crores revenue has been generated during the last five years.
VRSEC established Center for Excellence in Telematics and Composite Materials funded by DST, Govt. of India. The Institute established Skill Development Centre consisting of 15 advanced labs for young engineers in association with Siemens and Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). In collaboration with APSSDC & Northeastern University, Boston, USA, VRSEC is establishing Venture Development Center for the benefit of students to encourage entrepreneurship skills. Under Youth Innovation Fellows, four students of VRSEC visited Stanford University, USA. The Institute has also established Video Analytics Lab in association with ADRIN-ISRO, Hyderabad and other collaborative labs with IBM, ORACLE, CISCO, National Instruments and University of West Alabama.
